Today, I’ll share an interview with Booktroupe Author, Mireille Chester. With 11 titles under her name – most in the YA and Adult Fantasy genre - this interview should be interesting. Mireille also writes middle grade fantasy as Author M.G. Chester.
DB: You’ve written a number of books. Do you have a favorite character you’ve created?
MC: I have to say that it depends on which book I’m writing at the time. I fall in love with all of the characters. If I had to pick one though, I think I’d have to say Ternach. He’s the immortal in The Chosen One Trilogy. He’s such a bad guy. I’m pretty sure there’s a picture of him under self-serving in the dictionary. Lol
DB: Your favorite book and why? (Not written by you)
MC: The Hobbit. My dad read it to me as a bedtime story when I was just little. It’s one of the reasons I love fantasy and why I manage to sneak a dragon in all of my stories.
DB: Best writing advice for newbie authors?
MC: Write what you love. Once you’re done writing it, be sure to find an editor. One of the biggest mistakes I made when I first published was rush the process. Take your time. Having people love your work without saying “too bad there were so many editing mistakes” really makes a difference. Trust me. Lol
DB: I see you have children. I’m sure you have an abundance of embarrassing moments. Shout out the most embarrassing one you’re willing to share.
MC: Oh, man. Lol There are so many, but I can’t seem to think of one.
DB: Everyone likes to compare. What book, TV show, or movie would you say has the most similarity to your books?
MC: This is a hard one. I did have one reader tell me the Chosen One Trilogy was a mix of Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, and Animorphs. :D
DB: Best mode of transportation: Unicorn or Dragon? MC: Dragon
DB: Favorite movie of all time? MC: Boondock Saints
DB: Favorite song or artist/band? MC: Ed Sheeran
DB: Night or Day? MC: Day
DB: Gremlins or Goonies: MC: Goonies
DB: I know this is going to be hard…. share only three sentences from any of your books.
MC: My arm hurts. Seriously. It hurts a lot. (Angered Seasons)
DB: Share the opening line to three of your books.
MC: It’s hard to believe that at one point life had seemed dull, boring, average and uneventful. ~ Crossover (The Chosen One Trilogy: book one)
“Nothing is as it seems.” ~ Journey (The Chosen One Trilogy: book two)
If someone had told me I would someday find myself in a fight to save a world I didn’t know existed, I would have laughed. ~ Destiny (The Chosen One Trilogy: book three)
Thanks so much for sharing, Mireille. It’s been great.

Randomness Anyone
Hey Peps! It's been crunch time for me. I've been whippin' my WIP into shape so I've been low-key on the blog. So I thought I'd ramble about what's been up. Please share your 'what's been up' also in the comments.
1. Whippin' the WIP - I love the last book in my series, Becoming Me. Tomorrow I'm sending it off to my betas Eeek! This story has everything: action, romance, suspense...can't wait for the world to read the conclusion to this story.
2. My oldest daughter (19 yr. old) left a little over a week ago for camp. She's a counselor for the summer. This is the longest she's been away and we're all a little sad. But she's doing one more year at the local college then transferring so I guess we'd better get used to it. Sigh, you want them to leave but then you don't.
3. I am collaborating with two author groups that I'm in on an anthology. I'm writing one for release some time in September and another around Halloween. More on those later. But I'm super excited about them both.
4. I've decided to....drum roll please... go back and get my Master's Degree. Gah! I know, right. School. More school. I'm going to get my Master's in Library Science. I can't put it off any more. It's just time. I'm nervous, though.
5. I receive notifications for new videos for Joanna Penn of The Creative Penn. She had an awesome video that Indie and traditionally published authors might want to watch. Here is the link. I would recommend subscribing to her channel. She's a wealth of information and her guests are great.
What about you? What have you got going on? Share please!

A New Release and a Cover Reveal
I've been working on my WIP, the third book in the Finding Me trilogy, Becoming Me. I'm nearly finished! Eeek! This year is flying by so fast it's hard to believe the kids will be out for school in a few days.
Today, I wanted to share with you information on two awesome authors: Kelly Hashway (of course, Kelly's books aren't new to this blog) and Anesa Miller (she's new to the blog but not to the publishing world).
Kelly has a new release: The Darkness Within which released officially on yesterday, 6/2. This is the second book in her duology. The first book, The Monster Within, is also available for purchase.
Magic.
Anesa Miller is relaunching her book, Our Orbit.
Nine-year-old Miriam Winslow never wore new clothes, never had a haircut, and believes that sinners must repent with dramatic displays of remorse, or harm will come to their loved ones. Now thrust into foster care, Miriam must adapt to a secular lifestyle while struggling to keep in touch with her past. Foster parents Rick and Deanne Fletcher quickly come to love their “new little girl.” Soon they meet the rest of Miriam’s family. Uncle Dan believes he was abducted by aliens. Sister Rachelle, just out of juvenile detention, harbors painful secrets. Brother Josh is outraged that the Fletchers disrespect Christian teachings. He vows to take Miriam out of their home and put a stop to meddling in his family’s way of life.

After dying of cancer at seventeen and being brought back to life by an evil witch who turned her into a monster, Samantha Thompson thinks she's finally gotten past all the tragedy in her life. Now she's part of a coven of good witches who are helping her and her boyfriend, Ethan Anderson, learn to use the powers they received from other witches. Aside from the fact that Sam and Ethan are still in hiding from their old lives--the ones they had before Sam was brought back to life--things couldn't be better. Sam and Ethan are inseparable. What could go wrong?
Magic.
Ethan's magic came from a witch who'd turned as evil as possible, and though his coven thought he'd be fine, the more he uses his magic, the stranger he starts acting. The magic inside him is changing who he is. One minute he's Sam's sweet, perfect Ethan and the next, he's a complete stranger. Even with all her witchy power, Sam is helpless against the magic corrupting Ethan. Can Sam find out what's wrong with him before she loses him to dark magic forever?
