To: Writing, From: Dawn

I have a love, hate relationship with writing. I hate that I love it so much. But honestly, I can't live without it. If I stay away too long, I feel lonely, sad, depressed. I'm lost and abandoned sometimes by it, but I know that it does not do it on purpose. I forgive writing for making me cry and making me feel inferior to others. I can get pretty jealous at times too. Does this sound like your relationship with writing. Yeah! Funny huh - how it feels like a real relationship sometimes. Writing makes me cry more than my real husband. I thought Kelly Clarkson  put it perfectly. "My Life Would Suck Without You"

Have a great day. Read a book and laugh!!!

  4. Very true! I'm married to my writing. I love it, even when it makes me cry. Much like my husband.

  7. Hi Dawn! I love this post... It's crazy to me how unbalanced I feel--both when I'm writing and when I'm NOT writing. A relationship is the perfect metaphor! :)

  8. Thanks Ladies. I can't live without writing - just like I can't live without my husband. It's great to be able to devote a post to my "other true love" and have people understand and not want to lock me away!!! LOL

  9. You nailed it, Dawn! Writing is the food that feeds my soul. I'm sure a little piece of me wouldn't survive without it.
Thank you for the great post.

    Blessings,

  10. I feel the exact same way! I have an almost psychologically abusive relationship with writing, but I keep coming back. Le sigh. It's okay, I hope one day he'll provide me a living, know my worth and finally treat me right.

It's okay writing. I'll be in your harem.

  12. Wow! That's deep! Should I feel inferior because I don't weep for my art? I think because I write so much humor, I try to stay in that mode as much as possible so that I don't lose my witty edge...at least that's what I tell myself when you all seem so much more dedicated than I am...LOL
I wish you all blessings and continued love for craft. Cheers!

  13. I couldn't agree with you more! I'm glad we have writing to give our "emotional muscles" a work out. Thanks to it, I run the gamut of emotions on a daily basis--when I write and when I don't. Truly it's like an old friend who comforts you in times of pain and who allows you to vent and rant, without judgement. Wouldn't you agree? :)

Christina, every artist is different never feel inferior to anyone. You rock!!! I rock!!! We all rock in our own way.

Bella, yes, writing is like an old friend. We can rant and it never tells us we're overreacting!!!

  15. Really a quality para. all neat and full of goodies and tied up with a turquoise bow. (Having older eyes, that color was difficult to see.) enjoyed and hope your party went well.
